High School

The Adult High School program is a way to earn a high school diploma through taking courses. Students in grades 9-12 (or equivalent) in adult high school credit programs must meet essentially the same standards for graduation as those in the standard four-year, 24-credit program.

A minimum of 24 credits is required to earn a standard high school diploma. Credits are earned by successful completion of course requirements and attainment of a satisfactory grade on an end-of-course exam. One annual credit is the equivalent of two semester credits.

The courses or subjects specified below are the minimum required for graduation through the Adult High School program:

Community service is encouraged, but it is not a requirement for earning a standard diploma in the Adult High School program. Adult students may earn elective credit for documented military experience.
